Sculpture From Baling Wire and Bed Springs
Bald Eagle Sculpture Life-Sized Made of Welded Steel
Jack created this life-sized steel sculpture of a Bald Eagle utilizing an oxyacetylene torch, an impromptu pile of discarded hay baling wire, and a broad scattering of old bed springs with the unique welding process which Jack developed in 1970. There are approximately one thousand weld points in each wing feather. It took Jack three months to create this work of art. Different stages of this process, with other sculptures, are shown on previous pages of our website exhibiting the Longhorn Bull Sculpture and the sculpture of Elk Locking Horns.
